Join a vibrant and supportive CPA firm as a Remote Tax Manager I! We're looking for a dedicated professional with a CPA license to become part of our small leadership team. In this role, you will work closely with clients while managing and developing a talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns, taking primary responsibility for client engagements, including scheduling, staffing, technical issues, and other related duties as needed.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide staff through professional development, fostering a positive team environment while assisting them with technical challenges.
- Tackle complex tax issues that require creativity and a deep understanding of tax law and its implications.
- Utilize various technologies to create, analyze, and present financial results effectively.
- Ensure the successful completion of engagements, proactively identifying and addressing any challenges with minimal oversight.
- Engage with clients to offer business and tax recommendations tailored to their needs.
- Analyze and present financial and tax results to clients, empowering staff to do the same.
- Educate clients on their financial positions and strategic plans, while guiding staff in their development.
- Collaborate with team members to generate innovative solutions for clients and internal processes.
- Stay informed on industry trends and contribute to leading the firm toward its vision.
- Work closely with the leadership team to drive improvements within the company.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA License.
- 8-10 years of experience in a small to medium-sized CPA firm with a stable work history.
- Strong ability to review a wide range of tax returns, ensuring they are materially correct.
- Experience preparing complex tax returns.
- Proven staff management and deadline management skills.
- Comprehensive tax knowledge, including research, planning, and projection.
- Some advisory experience is beneficial.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a modern, tech-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to develop and champion your ideas while respectfully challenging others' for optimal outcomes.
- Experience with Ultratax CS, Practice Management Software, Practice CS, or GoFileRoom and Practice Forward is preferred.
- Must be dedicated to this role with no secondary job or clients on the side.
- Candidates in the Eastern and Central Time Zones are preferred.
