Mesilla Valley Hospital has been in operation since 1987, serving those in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona. MVH is the leader in providing quality mental health and addiction treatment services. Our commitment to care includes developing integrated delivery systems through partnerships with medical surgical hospitals, community mental health centers, educational institutions, managed care organizations, local health professionals and agencies.

POSITION SUMMARY

Mesilla Valley Hospital is seeking dynamic and talented Registered Nurses to work for a TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT.  This position is a NON-BENEFITS POSITION.

The staff RN prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Supervisory responsibilities for Mental Health Technicians (MHT)/Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).

NOTE:  Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 12 months are not eligible.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION 

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred.

License: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Must have a valid driver's license in applicable state.

Additional Requirements: Must possess CPR (AED) certification prior to hire. Successful completion of CPI training including appropriate use of seclusion and restraint within 90 days of employment and must be deemed competent prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam. Applicants may not be currently employed by Mesilla Valley Hospital.
