Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on leveraging Azure cloud-native features, data platform capabilities, and automated environment provisioning to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in modern DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Azure tools to deliver robust solutions that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for provisioning Azure resources.
Implement declarative IaC practices to ensure consistent and scalable infrastructure deployment.
Manage infrastructure changes through version control systems like Git.
Azure Cloud-Native Features:
Utilize Azure-native tools and services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps to build scalable and resilient solutions.
Leverage Azure's high-availability features, including redundancy, self-healing mechanisms, and automatic failover.
Optimize resource usage through Azure's pay-as-you-go model and scalability options.
Data Platform Integration:
Support the integration of data platform features using Azure tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory.
Ensure seamless integration of data pipelines with cloud-native applications.
CI/CD Pipeline Management:
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines for efficient software delivery.
Automate testing, building, and deployment processes to reduce manual intervention.
Enforce standards for code quality and security in the CI/CD pipeline.
Automated Environment Provisioning:
Implement automated provisioning of environments using tools like ARM templates or Terraform.
Enable rapid deployment of pre-configured environments for development, testing, and production.
Maintain consistency across environments by tracking configurations in source control.
Change Management:
Oversee change management processes through pull requests within Azure DevOps Repositories.
Collaborate with development teams to review code changes while ensuring adherence to best practices.
Track work items and manage project progress using Azure DevOps Boards.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Set up monitoring tools to track system health, performance metrics, and logs for proactive issue resolution.
Troubleshoot production issues effectively to minimize downtime.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure goals with business objectives.
Mentor junior engineers in DevOps practices, tools, and methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (module creation experience preferred).
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps tools (Pipelines, Boards, Repositories).
Deep understanding of Azure cloud-native features such as scalability, redundancy, serverless computing, and automated failover mechanisms.
Knowledge of data platform tools like Azure Synapse Analytics or Data Factory is a strong advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in DevOps engineering roles with at least 3 years focused on Azure environments.
Demonstrated experience managing changes through pull requests and using Azure DevOps Boards.
Proven track record of implementing automated environment provisioning.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
